Robotics & Multimodal Autonomy (RoMA) Lab at University College London

Fangqiang was a PhD student with us from 2021-2025. His research focuses on developing robust and privacy-aware perception systems for physical AI, leveraging modalities such as mmWave radar and thermal imaging to handle adverse weather, occlusion, and illumination challenges. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher at MIT, and is now an Assistant Professor at HKUST (GZ). His work with RoMA lab has been published in leading venues including NeurIPS, CVPR, ECCV, ICRA, and SenSys. Fangqiang was selected an RSS Pioneers 2025 (competitive early-career recognition from the robotics community).
